In the industrial flow measurement with electromagnetic flowmeter, especially in the chemical industry, the conductivity of the measured medium often fluctuates greatly. Of course, the influence of conductivity fluctuation on the flow measurement cannot be ignored. Below we will analyze specific cases.
In a chemical plant, because of the need to measure high-concentration hydrochloric acid solution for production, it was found that the measurement signal was unstable after a period of measurement. After the engineers carefully surveyed the surrounding environment of the measurement site, it was found that there was no bad environmental interference around the measurement site, and there was no severe vibration or signal interference. Therefore, on-site engineers change the concentration of hydrochloric acid to see if it will have a greater impact on the reading of the electromagnetic flowmeter. After testing, when starting to use the hydrochloric acid solution with a lower concentration, the reading of the electromagnetic flowmeter was very stable, and there was no shaking of the reading. When we started to adjust the concentration of the hydrochloric acid solution and began to increase the concentration of the hydrochloric acid solution, the electromagnetic flowmeter began to shake, so we began to judge the existence of the phenomenon of the influence of the concentration of hydrochloric acid on the measurement of the electromagnetic flowmeter. Especially for the influence of the electrode of the electromagnetic flowmeter, so when we encounter the change of the conductivity of the measuring medium due to the concentration and other reasons, we should replace the electrode in time and replace the electrode with a tantalum electrode.
We have carefully analyzed the reason why the conductivity changes because the medium measured by the electromagnetic flowmeter is constantly adding new substances to dissolve in the measured medium, which causes the mixed liquid to not completely merge, so the concentration It is not uniform and the conductivity fluctuates greatly. Therefore, placing the sensor of the electromagnetic flowmeter downstream of the pipeline is also based on the consideration of full dissolution.
